Madra uses Stripe to handle online payments for your store. Your customers can pay by credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal, all securely.

What payment methods are available?

Madra stores offer several payment methods to provide maximum flexibility for your customers. All payments are processed by Stripe, the payment platform used by millions of businesses worldwide.

  • Credit card — Visa, Mastercard, American Express. The most widely used payment method in Europe and worldwide.
  • Apple Pay — One-click payment for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users. Fast and secure thanks to biometric authentication.
  • Google Pay — Quick payment for Android and Chrome users. Works without manual card information entry.
  • PayPal — Available on request for customers who prefer to pay through their PayPal account.

How does Stripe work?

Stripe is an online payment platform that handles the entire payment process: collecting card information, verification, authorization, and transferring funds to your bank account.

  • Free registration — Creating a Stripe account is free. You only pay transaction fees on each sale.
  • Transaction fees — Standard Stripe fees are 1.5% + EUR 0.25 per transaction for European cards. Exact fees depend on your country and card type.
  • Automatic transfers — Collected funds are automatically transferred to your bank account, typically within 2 to 7 business days.
  • Stripe Dashboard — You get access to a complete dashboard to track your transactions, refunds, and revenue.

How do you set up payments for your store?

Setting up payments takes just a few simple steps.

Create a Stripe account

Go to stripe.com and create your account. You will need to provide information about your business and bank account.

Connect Stripe to your Madra store

From your Madra dashboard, access the payment settings and connect your Stripe account. You can also send your Stripe credentials to support.

Enable payment methods

Choose which payment methods you want to offer: credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal.

Test the process

Make a test purchase to verify that the checkout flow works correctly from start to finish.

Are payments secure?

Payment security is an absolute priority. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest security level in the payment industry.

  • SSL/TLS encryption — All payment data is encrypted in transit. Card information never passes through Madra's servers.
  • PCI DSS — Stripe handles PCI DSS compliance. You do not need to store or handle credit card data.
  • 3D Secure (SCA) — Strong Customer Authentication is enabled in compliance with European regulations (PSD2). Customers validate their payments through their banking app.
  • Fraud detection — Stripe Radar analyzes each transaction in real time to detect and block fraudulent payments.
  • Refunds — You can process partial or full refunds directly from the Stripe dashboard or by contacting Madra support.

Madra never stores your customers' credit card data. All sensitive information is handled exclusively by Stripe, in a PCI DSS certified environment.
